Deadly two-vehicle wreck under investigation
Houston police are investigating a fatal car accident in the 13100 block of Misty Willow Drive that occurred around 3:45 p.m. Friday, May 11.
The female victim, Jenny Stanfield, 72, of The Woodlands, was transported to Houston Northwest Medical Center, where she later died.
According to the incident report, the driver of a tractor-trailer was traveling east on North Willow Place Drive and coming up to Misty Willow Drive. The victim was heading south. Stanfield stopped at a stop sign at the intersection, but then failed to yield the right of way and was hit on the right passenger side.
The unnamed 59-year-old male driver of the tractor-trailer was taken to Willowbrook Methodist Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. The 58-year-old female passenger in Stanfield's car was also transported to Willowbrook, where she was then transferred to Memorial Hermann Hospital by helicopter in critical condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
