Woodlands High team wins prose, poetry event
The award-winning competitive acting team of Woodlands High School’s theater department began the University Interscholastic League season March 24 at the UIL District 14 5A Academic contest.
The team won first and second in the prose and poetry events for the second year in a row.
Winning first and second in prose reading and advancing to the regional competition at Baylor University were sophomores Andrew Hollinger and Rachel Ricks respectively. Winning first and second in poetry reading were juniors Rachel Schardt and Christy Beauchemin respectively. Megan Miller rounded out the competition by placing fourth in this event.
