Student finds giving can bring rewards
Kaufman Elementary fourth-grader Frank Jarratt finds that sometimes when he gives of himself, he actually gains. “I help with afternoon dismissal at our school,” he said. “I help the teachers and the kindergartners when it’s time to go. I’m proud I’ve stuck with my job all year. The teachers gave me a card at Christmas thanking me for my help and a gift and I said, ‘Man, doing a good job pays off in all sorts of ways!’ ”

Ambition: “I want to work with animals, removing them from places where they have become a problem to people and placing them back in their habitat.”
