Children's author shares tips with students
Children's author Kate Klise shared tips on writing and her love of the writing process with students April 10-11 at the John Cooper School.
"I like to share with writers my early failures and how I discovered (the hard way) what makes a good story, how important it is to send a character on an interesting journey, the critical 'Oh, no!' moment and why writing is really re-writing," she said.
On the second day of her visit, she held a workshop with fifth-grade students and shared tips on how to start writing their own books.
Klise's latest book, "The Phantom of the Post Office," is the fourth book in her 43 Old Cemetery Road series and will be released May 2.
