Volunteers to be honored at annual 'Women of Distinction' luncheon
The Annual Women of Distinction lucheon, where the Montgomery County Women’s Council of Organizations comes together to celebrate the accomplishments provided by volunteers to local charitable organizations performed during the year, will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 27 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center, 1601 Lake Robbins Drive in The Woodlands.
According to a press release, the goal of the luncheon is to shine a light on a specific volunteer from a local nonprofit agency. Each nonprofit agency votes on one volunteer they feel has gone above and beyond the call of duty for their agency. Most candidates are selected based on their volunteerism and service to the community.
The convention will feature a silent auction and music by The Heart-Lites.
"We are so excited to be entertained this year by The Heart-Lites," said Jo Ann Robinson, president of MCWCO, in a press release. "The Heart-Lites are a group of women affiliated with the Cypress Woodlands Junior Forum, to perform Hit Parade songs from 1911-1938, as well as music from the ‘50s and ‘60s. It's going to be like a walk down memory lane for many of us."
For more information on the silent auction, nominations or to purchase paperless tickets, call Jo Ann Robinson at 281-296-2675 or email joanngrobinson@hotmail.com, or mail your information or check registration to MCWCO, P.O. Box 8504, The Woodlands, TX 77387-8504.
