Lone Star College to hold STEM-focused, college prep summer camps
Registration for the Lone Star College System's Discovery College summer youth camp will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on April 14 at most Lone Star College campuses.
The weeklong camps begin June 4 and run through Aug. 2. Courses offered will focus on providing students with educational programs and a college-like experience.
Programs offered will be STEM-focused, meaning available courses are specifically designed to engage students in science, technology, engineering and math disciplines.
The youth camp will offer a new session this summer called “Lone Star College Road Trip,” which will prepare middle and high school students for life after graduation. Other sessions offered include SAT/ACT preparation, career exploration, essay and short story writing courses, technology workshops and dormitory survival skills, such as sewing, laundry and money handling.
Lone Star College System is located at 5000 Research Forest Drive in The Woodlands. Campus locations participating in the Discovery College program include CyFair, Kingwood, Montgomery, Tomball and University Park.
