Woodlands wine bar sued after alleged attack
A Woodlands wine bar is being sued after allegedly overserving alcohol to a customer who was later attacked in a nearby parking lot.
Hector Carlos Garcia filed a lawsuit on Friday, March 9 in the Harris County District Court against 24 Waterway, Ace Parking Management and Crush Wine Bar, in The Woodlands, citing negligence.
Garcia says on Oct. 15, 2011, he and a friend were attacked by unknown suspects as they walked from Crush Bar to his car, parked in a lot owned by Ace. According to the brief, before the attack, Crush Bar employees continued to serve Garcia alcoholic beverages, even though he was obviously very intoxicated.
Garcia is seeking damages and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Norman Straub.
