VFW honors Glen Loch teachers
Veterans with the VFW Post & Auxiliary 12024 surprised teachers and staff of Glen Loch Elementary the morning of Thursday, Feb. 16 with trays of bagels and fruit.
"Teachers spend approximately eight or nine hours a day with our children and then another three hours planning, grading and preparing for the next day — a lot of hard work that is many times overlooked," said Ken Wells, post chaplin, in a press release. "I've worked in the school system myself and know that a little appreciation goes a long way. Who better than a veteran knows about sacrifices? It's our way of saying thank you."
