InterOil announces spudding of the Triceratops-2
The InterOil Corporation, a petroleum extraction company with offices in The Woodlands, began exploration drilling in its Triceratops-2 well in Papa New Guinea this February.
The goal of the drilling is to find gas, condensate and presence of a reefal carbonate reservoir, all of which are positive indicators that the well could be used for gas production.
“Our exploration team has identified significant potential in this field, which is proximate to our planned Gulf LNG Project,” said InterOil CEO Phil Mulacek, in a press release this February.
The Triceratops-2 well is located near the Bwata-1 discovery well, a gas field near a reefal carbonate reservoir.
The exploration drilling including testing is expected to take 60-120 days to complete.
InterOil’s main focus is gas and petroleum extraction in the Papa New Guinea area.
The company’s Texas office is located at, 25025 Interstate 45 in The Woodlands.
