Huntsman Corporation announces new director of board
Jon Huntsman Jr. has been named director of the board of directors for the Huntsman Corporation, effective Feb. 1.
Huntsman suspended his campaign for the Republican nomination for president of the United States less than a month ago. His public service career includes two elections as governor of Utah, U.S. ambassador to China, U.S. ambassador to Singapore and deputy U.S. trade representative and ambassador.
Huntsman is a founding director of the Pacific Council on International Policy and has served in senior positions for the Brookings Institute Asia Policy Board, the Center for Strategic and International Studies Pacific Forum, the Asia Society in New York and the National Bureau of Asian Research.
“Jon is regarded with dignity and respect throughout the world,” said Jon M. Huntsman Sr., executive director of the board, according to a press release. “His international and diplomatic experience is well known and admired. He has previously served as vice chairman of our Huntsman businesses and thus will contribute enormously as a member of our board of directors."
