Former Woodlands athlete named to Special Olympics Texas board
Former athlete Kathy Thompson of The Woodlands has been appointed to the Special Olympics Texas 2012 Board of Directors.
She is only the second Special Olympics Texas athlete to serve on the board.
An athlete since 1998, Thompson has competed in all local and chapter games in bowling, cycling and bocce since 2005 and was a member of the 2011 USA World Bocce Team that competed in Athens, Greece.
Thompson currently works as a teacher assistant in the Faith Kids Pre-School program at Faith United church during the spring while attending Lone Star University continuing education classes.
Thompson will serve a two-year term in the athlete position on the board.
