Local businesses, organizations come together to help local woman
Several local businesses and organizations came together to help a single woman raising her four nieces.
Angela Bundage and the girls were living in a home that needed many repairs, and Bundage was put in touch with Summer Darnell of United Way's Days of Caring, who nominated the family for a new floor from Flaherty's Flooring. They won the floor, but that was only the beginning of changes to their home.
Volunteers from Woodlands United Methodist worked to transform the girls' bedroom and bathroom. Mattresses were provided by Mattresses for Less. Convenant Electricity provided the family with electrical services and individuals donated money totaling $1,900.
For more information, contact Summer Darnell at 936-760-4179, ext. 245 or summer@mcuw.org, or visit www.mcuw.org.
