Woodlands Mall to host community-made murals
The Woodlands Mall will host community-created murals beginning Friday, Jan. 27, as part of January's Spotlight on the Arts.
The murals were created by community organizers such as BAM! volunteers, the Montgomery County Women's shelter, WoodsEdge Community Church and The Woodslands Fire Department. They were guided by Vickie McMillan.
"We are very pleased to have a venue to display the wonderful work created by area groups under the direction of Vickie McMillan," Brenda Gottlieb, community outreach chairperson, The Woodlands Waterway Arts Council, said in a press release. "The Woodlands Mall offers us an opportunity to reach individuals who might not be familiar with BAM! or the area organizations."
The program is supported by a number of local organizations, including The Woodlands Mall, Because Art Matters!, The Woodlands Waterway Warts Council and the Texas Commission on the Arts.
The murals will be located on the mall's upper level near the food court. The mall is located at I-45 North at Lake Woodlands Drive.
