Woodlands student to light Market Street Christmas tree
Eight-year-old Kole Smithson of The Woodlands has been named the official tree lighter of Market Street’s Christmas tree.
Smithson, a second grader at Deretchin Elementary, moved to The Woodlands with his family four years ago. He has been treated for ADHD and a Sensory Integration Disorder through Texas Children’s Hospital. His grandmother Carol Pierce nominated him for the honor.
Market Street’s Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17. Smithson will flip the switch to light the tree at 7 p.m.
