Three local HS grads are Green (without envy)

Dartmouth rallied from a 6-1 deficit in game two to win both ends of a baseball double-header at Harvard's O’Donnell Field on Sunday afternoon, 3-1 and 10-8. The victories completed the Big Green's first four-game sweep of the Crimson since 1995.

In game one, The Woodlands High School graduate Jake Carlson went 1-for-2 with a run scored and a stolen base. In game two, Carlson went 1-for-4 with a run scored.

Carlson played for Coach Eastman at The Woodlands High School. He lettered both his junior and senior years as the team won the District 15-5A championship; he was named District 15-5A MVP and a Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star. The Woodlands won the Texas 5A State Championship during his sophomore season.

Jake is the son of Daniel and Linda. His father played football at the University of Nebraska in the early '80s.

In game one, Langham Creek High School graduate Jeff Onstott went 1-for-4. In game two, he went 1-for-4 with three RBIs.

Onstott is a 2007 graduate of Langham Creek High School where he was a four-year letter earner for Coach Armando Sedeno. He was team captain as a senior, 2006-2007, and earned first-team all-district honors in addition to being selected as baseball student-athlete of the year for the greater Houston region. As a junior, 2005-2006, Onstott was a second-team all-district player. An avid runner, he participated in cross country at Langham Creek and ran a marathon at the age of 14. The son of Jim and Mary Onstott, he is a psychology major at Dartmouth.

In game two, Houston Christian Academy graduate Dustin Selzer went 1-for-3 with two runs scored.

Selzer is a 2010 graduate of Houston Christian where he was a three-year letter winner for Coach Ron Mathis. As a senior, 2009-2010, he was team captain helping Houston Christian to a 35-10 record and the 5A District championship. Selzer was named district and team MVP in addition to first-team all-district and all-state as led the Houston area in home runs. He was also picked to the state all-tournament team. As a junior, 2008-2009, he helped his team to a district title and was named to the state all-tournament team. Selzer also earned first-team all-district and all-state recognition that year. As a sophomore, 2007-2008, he was on the Houston Christian club that won the district title and the TAPPS 5A state championship. In the classroom Selzer earned academic all-state recognition. The son of Joel and Claudia, he intends to study economics.
