Woodlands Chamber of Commerce holds annual awards luncheon

The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce recently held its annual awards luncheon.
According to the press release, the event honored individuals in the categories of Volunteer of the Year, Community Citizen of the Year, Diplomat of the Year, Chairman's Award and Legacy Award for the 2011-2012 fiscal year.
The Volunteer of the Year award went to Danny Schroder of Amegy Bank. Schroder is a chamber board member and is in his second year of serving as vice president of economic development.
The Citizen of the Year award, which honors an exceptional member of the community who has provided outstanding service, went to Ed Chance, commissioner of Montgomery County Precinct 3. Chance has assisted in various projects, including the development of Rayford Road, The Waterway development dedication and the public safety unit in South County.
The Diplomat of the Year award went to Janet Levesque of JC's Chem-Dry for the second year in row for her dedication to the chamber, in addition to obtaining the most points through the Diplomat Team's Point System.
The Chairman's Award went to Randy Lovelace of Paragon Independent Insurance.
The Legacy Award, a new honor, went to Alex Sutton and Tim Welbes, co-presidents of The Woodlands Development Company.
In addition to these five awards, the luncheon also honored key chamber members for their dedication and services to the chamber, including departing board members, team leaders and members who celebrated special chamber anniversaries.
