Magnolia West forensic science students create timelines
published Sep. 11, 2012
Forensic science students at Magnolia West High School created a series of timelines for display in the school's science hallway.
Students chose significant dates in the area of forensics and each gave a presentation to their class detailing the importance of their topic or case. Afterward, the students formed a timeline in the Magnolia West High School science hallway showing the progression of forensics history.
Topics included Mathieu Orfila's 1813 contribution to toxicology, biologist Paul Uhlenhuth's first differentiation between human and animal blood in 1901, and the first case of orthodontia used as criminal evidence in 1906.
