D.A.R. Heritage Trails chapter releases 2012-13 plan

Patriot Project trips, ceremony presentations and luncheons are scheduled this year for the Heritage Trails chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
The schedule was finalized at a recent meeting at The Woodlands Country Club and includes hosting a Constitution Week Luncheon on Saturday, Sept. 15; participating in the Salute to Veterans ceremony at Klein Independent School District; volunteering for veterans at the Fisher House; traveling to the Wounded Warrior Center in San Antonio on a Patriot Project Trip; and more. The group also plans to award the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizenship and Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps awards later in the year.
In other club news, Jennifer Breshears shared the Texas Historical Commission certificate recognizing the McCall Cemetery in Spring as a Texas Historic Cemetery. The chapter is in the process of applying to become guardians of the cemetery, which is located on Huffsmith Cemetery Road.
New DAR Texas State Regent Pamela Rouse Wright has appointed three Heritage Trails members to state chairman and state vice chairman positions. Members and their new positions are Pat Spackey, state chairman of the Texas Flag committee and state vice chairman of the State Regent's Scrapbook; Dottie Wainwright, advisor for the Project Patriot committee and vice chairman of public relations for District 5; and Pat Williams, state chairman chapter achievement .
The Heritage Trails chapter meets the third Tuesday of each month at various locations in the area. The chapter was formed in 2006 and is open to women in the Northwest Harris and South Montgomery counties who can prove their lineage to an ancestor from the American Revolution.
