Coach Ware, but without character
I sat in the audience at The Woodlands Christian Academy Football banquet earlier this year and listened to how much coach Ware (Blake Ware) cared for and loved these TWCA students who he poured his heart and soul into this past year. He talked of the great year ahead and for many I am sure they were moved by his words. The problem is they were just that, words. Coach Ware babbled like Meatloaff on celebrity apprentice, crying or tearing up as he announce the seniors, and award winners. It wasn't until about 45 days or so later that we learned that he was leaving the school for St.Pius. The article in the Ultimate Woodlands only tells the "Coming Home" story for Blake Ware. What good is the story when you have to climb, and stomp on the souls of young men to get there. We should have listened. We had been warned about coach Ware as they were getting ready to announce he pending addition to the coaching roster. Someone felt so strong about his character issues that they pulled out of a coaching role. Now that is real character. Here's the lesson for all school administrators. Hire coaches with high levels of integrity and ones that want to be there for the long haul. The reel losers are the kids. They are taught that to succeed, you can step on the face of anyone you like and just move on. Maybe staying, showing some class and finishing his commitment to the school (from a moral perspective if not a contractual one) would have been the right message to send to all of the kids, including his own son.Flagged
