Paul Goldschmidt went 0 for 3, scored a run and was walked once in the Arizona Diamondbacks's 6-1 loss to the San Diego Padres on Sunday. Goldschmidt graduated from The Woodlands High School.

Goldschmidt is a 2006 graduate of The Woodlands High School. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 49th round (1,453rd overall) of the 2006 Major League Baseball draft, but he did not sign. Goldschmidt accepted a baseball scholarship at Texas State and played three seasons (2007 to 2009) for the Bobcats appearing in 151 career games. Goldschmidt was drafted in the eighth round (246th overall) of the 2009 MLB draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks. In 2010, his first full professional season, he was named MVP of the California League (advanced class-A) and the Diamondbacks minor league player of the year after batting .314 with 42 doubles, three triples, 35 home runs and 108 RBI for Vasalia. Jameson Lee Taillon pitched four innings, striking out nine and allowing no earned runs Sunday in the West Virginia Power's 9-0 loss to the Lexington Legends. Taillon graduated from The Woodlands High School.

Taillon was the second overall player taken in the 2010 Major League Baseball draft when he was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was a 2010 graduate of The Woodlands where he was a first-team high school all-American pitcher as a senior in 2010. Taillon was born Nov. 18, 1991 in The Woodlands. Read more...

Eibner is a 2007 graduate of The Woodlands and played three seasons of college baseball at Arkansas before being drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 2nd round (54th overall) of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft.
