Gourmet cupcakes coming to Indian Springs

A new tenant, Frost Bake Shoppe: Cupcakes & More, will open its doors in Indian Springs the first week of April. Offering gourmet cupcakes, cookies, and cakes, the bakery will be located next to Sundale Donuts and MW Cleaners in the Indian Springs village shopping center.

Owner Terese Yates, who moved to The Woodlands nearly two years ago, was tuned in to the cupcake trend she saw in New York and other cities she visited. She saw a need and a niche for a similar concept right here in The Woodlands. “We see this as a family-friendly, neighborhood sweet shoppe,” says Yates, who envisions Frost Bake Shoppe as a one-stop shop for birthdays, weddings, and many other special occasions.

Along with two on-site bakers, Yates will create her gourmet concoctions daily from scratch using all-natural ingredients. The mainstay cupcakes will come in about 15 different flavors, including vanilla, chocolate/vanilla, red velvet, carrot, Italian crème, coconut, and various seasonal flavors. The Frost signature cupcake will be a chocolate cupcake made with chocolate ganache, marshmallow filling, and marshmallow frosting on top.

The shoppe also serves thick, frosted cookies and custom round gourmet layer cakes in the same flavors as the cupcakes. Prices for cupcakes and cookies range from $3 each to $33 per dozen. Frost will also offer their own blend of coffee, juices, and milk, as well as logo-emblazoned t-shirts and cookbooks.

In addition, a “birthday party-to-go” pack will be available that includes two unfrosted cupcakes, a piping bag of frosting, sprinkles, and a coupon for a free cupcake. “It’s an activity, cake, and favor all in one that really can be used for any occasion” says Yates.

I've had Crave, Sprinkles, Sugar Babys and I LOVE Frost. Their frostings taste like real buttercream should! Also, their italian cream and just the plain ones were moist and very good.
