    Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in The Woodlands


    Yearning to unleash your inner Leprechaun this St. Patty’s Day? Look no further than these local events for inspiration on how to tap into the Irish in all of us:

    Waterway Square is the site of a Leprechaun Hunt, March 17, from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with shamrocks, pots o’ gold, leprechauns, and more. The hunt is open to children ages 5 to 8 and is $10 per child. Prizes will be awarded for locating the Leprechaun, and a St. Patrick’s Day craft will be provided. To register, call 281-210-3950.

    Market Street hosts a “Lucky Leprechaun & Unicorn” photo op event on March 17. Bring the little ones out to have their pictures made with a live leprechaun and mini unicorn. www.marketstreet-thewoodlands.com

    For adults seeking green beer at the end of the rainbow, several Woodlands locations offer St. Patty Day parties. Searching for some early-morning luck o’ the Irish? Then set your alarms for the all-day event at Goose’s Acre. Doors open at 8 a.m. for breakfast, with lunch and live music beginning at 11 a.m. The McTeggert Irish Dancers will perform at noon, followed by prizes, giveaways, and plenty of green beers until the doors close at 2 a.m. www.thegoosesacre.com

    Just down the block from Goose’s Acre, Baker St. Pub & Grill will host their “Shamrock Holmes” party, featuring live music by Shinolah and Vertigo, and (of course) more green beer.Doors open at 11 a.m. www.sherlockspubco.com

    Crabby Daddy Seafood & Steakhouse kicks off their celebration at 4 p.m. with live Irish music, dancing, an Irish-themed menu, drink specials, and more. www.crabbydaddy.com

    Do the jig over to Crescent Moon Wine Bar for “St. Patrick’s Day at the Moon”, March 17, from 6 to 10 p.m. On tap are Irish brews like Guinness and Bass Ale for $5 each and a festive Shamrock Zinfandel for $35 per bottle. Special menu items include grilled Guinness marinated bacon wrapped tenderloin with melted sage derby cheese, served with stewed carrots, potatoes and cabbage for $16.99, Scottish salmon poached in a thyme cream on wilted cabbage slaw for $17.99, or Irish lamb stew for $10.
