The American dream comes alive April 10-18 in Woodforest as the community celebrates its grand opening with a custom home showcase of four $1 million-plus homes, model home tours, prize giveaways, children’s activities and more — all themed to evoke the simpler times of yesteryear.

“The American Dream Showcase of Homes” will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily April 10-18, with refreshments and family fun planned for Saturdays and Sundays, April 10-11 and 17-18. Activities include contests in kite flying and sidewalk chalk art, a bounce house, face painting and more. Classic cars will add to the “days gone by” atmosphere. MidSouth Synergy will offer hot air balloon rides 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 10, weather permitting, during “Touchstone Energy Day.” Admission to all activities is free.
