    Deputies arrest suspect in home invasion

    Sheriff's deputies with Montgomery and Harris counties along with Oak Ridge North police officers arrested a suspect Tuesday involved in a home invasion and aggravated robbery in The Woodlands.

    The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call around noon Tuesday on Gate Hill Drive in the Indian Springs neighborhood of The Woodlands from a victim who reported that he had just been robbed at his home by two individuals, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.

    The 24-year-old victim called 911 around noon Tuesday reporting that two black men, one of whom appeared to be dressed as a police officer, knocked on his door and when he opened it, was threaten with a gun, restrained, struck on the head with a gun and robbed.

    The caller reported that the suspects had stolen his car. The victim sustained only minor injuries.

    The victim was able to provide the 911 operator and sheriff’s office dispatchers with a direction of travel and a description of one of the suspects. The suspect was wearing a light blue shirt, black jacket, black pants and a badge on the shirt. Currently there is not a confirmed description of the second vehicle.

    Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Rudy Almendarez spotted the stolen vehicle traveling south on Interstate 45 near Rayford Road.

    The stolen vehicle was chased by Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Oak Ridge North police officers south on the Hardy Toll Road. Deputies with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office disabled the vehicle using spike strips and the suspect loss control of the car on Richie Road. The driver fled on foot into a nearby wooded area.

    Several law enforcement agencies isolated the area and tracking dogs from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office located the suspect, Christopher Colvin, 42, of Missouri City, who was dressed in a security guard uniform. The second suspect has not been identified or arrested. Colvin will face a variety of charges, according to the sheriff's office.
