A Mitchell Intermediate student reported that she was approached by a Hispanic male after getting off the bus Wednesday afternoon.
The parents of the female student reported the incident to school officials Friday. The parent said a man asked the student if she wanted a ride when she was walking home from the bus Wednesday afternoon. When she said no, he asked if she wanted some candy.
The man is described as a Hispanic male with long curly hair and a beard. He was driving a red vehicle, possibly a Mustang, and had a nine-year old boy in the car with him.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Conroe Independent District Police are collaborating on the investigation.
Officials from the Conroe Independent School District remind parents to discuss safety with their children. Some of the reminders include don’t talk to stranger, stay with a buddy, scream yell, run of make noise to alert bystanders is someone attempt to grab you, run to your home or a neighbor house, report the incident immediately and, if you see suspicious activity, try to note a car or suspect description and a license plate number.
