    Holiday scenes set on ice

    Local ice sculptor Jay Maclaskey, of Montgomery, is preparing ice sculptures that will be on display for the ninth annual Ice Cutter's Christmas, scheduled for weekends through Dec. 26 and Christmas evening, at the Fire and Ice Hall, 15600 FM 2854. The event will include displays of Maclaskey's ice sculptures, a bonfire, hay rides, refreshments, and a demonstration of ice carving. Admission to the event is $5; children younger than 6 are admitted free. For information, visit www.icecutterschristmas.com or call 936-443-1122.
